Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP). The endorsement Honourable Manso Dumbuya
Delegates from Sierra Leone’s two most populous districts, East Urban and East Rural, have unanimously endorsed Honourable Manso Dumbuya for re-election as the Western Regional Chairman of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP). The endorsement, supported by 88 delegates, occurred at Dumbuya’s residence in Allen Town, Freetown, on May 3, 2025.
John Gbondo Margai, Chairman of the East Urban District, thanked Dumbuya for his critical role in securing the re-election of the district’s executives for another three-year term. Margai hailed Dumbuya as a shrewd strategist, asserting, no other regional chairman in the SLPP has worked more than Honourable Manso Dumbuya. He cautioned that betraying Dumbuya would jeopardize political success.
Similarly, Eldred Tunde Taylor, Chairman of the East Rural District, praised Dumbuya as a deliverer who has significantly strengthened the SLPP’s representation in the Western Area’s legislature and local councils. He supported our re-election, and we must repay that support to ensure his re-election as Western Regional Chairman, Taylor emphasized.
In his response, Honourable Manso Dumbuya congratulated the district executives on their re-election and urged them to foster unity within the SLPP, he stressed the importance of including those who lost in recent elections, stating, we must work together in the best interest of the party to secure victory in the 2028 elections. Dumbuya expressed gratitude to the 88 delegates for their full endorsement and prayed for divine guidance and protection for the SLPP’s future success.
The unanimous backing from East Urban and East Rural Districts underscores Dumbuya’s influence and the confidence that these key regions have in his leadership, as the SLPP prepares for the 2028 election cycle, this endorsement solidifies Dumbuya’s position as a central figure in the party’s Western Region strategy.
