Hon. Bangura donates building materials and cash for school completion
On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, Hon. Mohamed Papa Bangura, an All People’s Congress (APC) Member of Parliament representing Bombali District in Northern Sierra Leone, made a significant contribution to Yeali Sanda Community Secondary School in Makeni, the opposition lawmaker donated building materials and cash totalling over 80,000 New Leones (NLe) to support the completion of a three-classroom building, including office space,
The donation, comprising 100 bags of cement, 17 bundles of zinc, and 5,000 NLe in cash, aims to ensure the school is ready for students before the rainy season, this gesture aligns with President Julius Maada Bio’s 2018 Free Quality Education initiative, designed to enhance human capital by expanding access to schooling nationwide.
Presenting the items, Hon. Bangura urged school authorities to use the resources wisely and thanked former president Ernest Bai Koroma for his mentorship, crediting it for shaping his political and community-focused journey, I call on everyone to collaborate with the administration to complete this building before the rains, he said.
APC Bombali District Chairman Hon. Martin Bangura praised the MP’s efforts as exceeding his official duties, reflecting a deep commitment to the district’s progress, this is a testament to his dedication and a hopeful sign for our future, he remarked.
School Principal Ibrahim George Kamara expressed heartfelt gratitude, pledging prudent use of the donation, we cannot thank Hon. Mohamed Papa enough for this generous support, he said.
