Vice President Juldeh Jalloh Pays

The Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the Port of Freetown, where he was received by the Director General of the Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA), Mr. Yankuba Askia Bio.

Dr. Jalloh was given a guided tour of the port’s facilities, during which he observed ongoing port operations and infrastructure developments. The visit provided firsthand insight into the efficiency of port services and the progress of modernization efforts aimed at enhancing trade and maritime activities in Sierra Leone.

As part of his tour, the Vice President also visited the port’s transit point, where he assessed the movement of goods through the facility. His visit underscored the government’s commitment to improving port infrastructure and strengthening Sierra Leone’s position as a key maritime hub in the West African region.

Commending the leadership of the SLPHA, Dr. Jalloh acknowledged their dedication to modernizing port operations and enhancing efficiency. He reaffirmed the government’s continued support to ensure the Port of Freetown remains a vital driver of economic growth, investment, and international trade.

The visit highlighted the strategic importance of the Port of Freetown in facilitating commerce and boosting Sierra Leone’s economic prospects through improved logistics and maritime infrastructure.
