Inyillah Borteh Conteh is a communications specialist and nonprofit leader, has become a powerful voice for women’s empowerment and community engagement, combining her journalistic background with a deep commitment to social change. Born and raised in Sierra Leone, Inyillah has dedicated her career to uplifting marginalized voices, with a focus on gender equity and community development.

A graduate of the University of Sierra Leone’s Fourah Bay College, Inyillah specialized in journalism under the Mass Communications Department. Prior to moving to the United States, she worked as a journalist and media personality in Sierra Leone, where she became known for her impactful writing and strong social media presence. Her career path has always been driven by a passion for serving others and elevating the voices of women in her community.

Currently residing in Madison, Wisconsin, Inyillah holds a master’s degree in community engagement and nonprofit leadership. Her work continues to centre on creating space for women, especially, to contribute to program development and organizational strategies. Through research, advocacy, and strategic partnerships, she strives to connect their needs and interests with broader organizational missions.

As a feminist and advocate for gender equity, Inyillah is committed to fostering collaborations that allow individuals, particularly women, to thrive in ways they are most passionate about. Her ultimate career goal is to ensure that women’s voices remain central to community programs and initiatives.

In addition to her professional achievements, Inyillah is also a devoted wife and mother. Outside of work, she enjoys a variety of hobbies including reading, journaling, acting, cooking, and spending quality time with her family. A lover of nature and cats, Inyillah believes in the importance of balancing career ambitions with personal well-being.

Inyillah’s journey serves as an inspiration to many—demonstrating how commitment to gender equity and service to others can leave a lasting impact on both local and global communities.
