Vice President of Sierra Leone Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh visited Connaught Hospital on Tuesday 11th February, 2025, to inspect landmark healthcare projects at the country’s biggest health facility.

The Vice President toured the hospital to have first-hand assessment on the said projects designed to improve healthcare service delivery in the country.

“This afternoon, I visited Connaught Hospital to assess ongoing projects including the construction of the Burns Unit, and the installation of the 1 Megawatt (MW) Solar Energy System to the facility, as well as the operationalization of the Electronic Medical Records system initiated by my office a year ago,” he said in a social media post.

Dr. Jalloh also visited more project sites at the hospital including the new microbiology lab, the dialysis centre, and the new trauma centers.

According to the Vice President, the new projects are vital in improving diagnosis and patient care, noting that the all-important health facilities would also be instrumental in supporting neighbouring countries.

“When completed, the Burns Unit will support our sister countries of Guinea and Liberia with specialized training on burns management and care,” he stated.

The Honourable Vice President assured that, together with Health Minister Dr Austin Demby, they will deliver on President Bio’s mandate to improve access to quality healthcare in Sierra Leone.
