The Immigration Department of Sierra Leone has identified a fake visa website and warned the general public to be mindful of any online platform claiming to be issuing Sierra Leone visa other than the Department’s official website.
“The attention of the Sierra Leone Immigration Department has been drawn to a fraudulent website, https://www.visasierraleone.com misleading the public by falsely claiming to issue Sierra Leone visa. This has posed serious threat to the reputation of the Sierra Leone e-Visa System,” disclosed a press release from the country’s immigration outfit dated 21st November 2024.
However, the Sierra Leone Immigration Department advised the public on what to do in applying for Sierra Leone visa online.
“The Department wishes to inform the general public that the official website for applying for Sierra Leone visa is www.slid.gov.sl which would take you to the e-visa.s portal that is the mandated Government of Sierra Leone platform for visa applications and issuance.”
The Department reiterated its call for the general public to refrain from using the identified fraudulent website to apply for Sierra Leone e-Visa.
