A passionate and forward-thinking leader, Mr. Mahmoud Javombo is making a powerful impact in Bo District through his groundbreaking initiative Project 1835. Designed to empower youth and drive sustainable community development, the project is quickly gaining recognition as a model for grassroots innovation in Sierra Leone.

As the Team Lead of Project 1835, Mr. Javombo has demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to change. His vision is rooted in empowering young people to become agents of transformation by equipping them with the tools, skills, and mindset needed to address some of the country’s most pressing challenges.

Our goal is to build a generation of young leaders who are problem-solvers and nation-builders,  said Mr. Javombo, we believe in the power of youth-led innovation to shape a stronger and more sustainable future for Sierra Leone.

Project 1835 works across several key sectors including education, health, and agriculture engaging youth in creating local solutions with lasting impact. The initiative’s hands-on approach includes workshops, mentorship programs, and community-based projects that are already making a difference in schools, farming communities, and local health facilities.

Community leaders and residents in Bo have commended Mr. Javombo for his bold and visionary leadership. Many see his efforts as not only empowering young people but also helping to foster a culture of innovation and civic responsibility across the district.

As Project 1835 continues to grow, Mr. Javombo and his team are calling on donors, development partners, and government agencies to support their mission. By investing in youth empowerment, they argue, Sierra Leone can unlock its full potential and build a more inclusive and resilient society.

This rising movement led by a young Sierra Leonean stands as a shining example of how passion, leadership, and community engagement can bring about real and lasting change.
