SALWACO LUNGI RESTORES WATER SUPPLY
In response to a negative occurrence where an unidentified person directly set fire at a local farm which subconsciously burnt down valuable water provision utilities of SALWACO, the leadership of the Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO) headed by Ing. George Lamin Vandy as Managing Director and Apostle Dr. Albert Harrison Harvey as Deputy has restored water supply in Lungi, Kaffu Bullom Chiefdom.
The fire incident which happened during the first week of January 2025 disrupted the main source of the transmission line supplying water at the SALWACO overhead tank situated at the Banda Community in Lungi.
SALWACO’s Station Manager in Lungi, Ing. Abdulai Charles Kargbo informed that he immediately alerted the SALWACO leadership at HQ and that the prompt response to fix things has greatly been welcomed by the SALWACO Team in Lungi and the customers.
The restored water supply covers some clients in Banda, Lungi Modia, Tintafor, Old Airport environs, Masoila and some quarters of the Rotifunk and Mahera communities.
In a related development, the new Lungi water project which is underway is expected to cover the entire Lungi township, Kaffu Bullom Chiefdom and would be extended to some quarters of the Lokomasama Chiefdom.
All of these moves are aimed at placing SALWACO as a reliable water supply entity; with quality (WHO standard) and affordable prices for the people of Sierra Leone.
