Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, Vice President of Sierra Leone, has impressively showcased to French investors a range of investment opportunities in Sierra Leone, while assuring foreign investors of a friendly business environment in the country.
Vice President Jalloh was speaking on Thursday, 4th July, 2024, in Marseille, France, at the Sierra Leone Investment Forum organized by the Marseille Chamber of Commerce and the Municipality of Marseille.
“As part of a strong government delegation, we participated in the Sierra Leone Investment Forum organized in collaboration with the Marseille Chamber of Commerce and the Municipality in the beautiful city of Marseille. We showcased the various investment opportunities in Sierra Leone and held detailed discussions with many companies. Thank you to the President of the Marseille Chamber of Commerce, Jean-Luc Chauvin, and the Municipality of Marseille for hosting Sierra Leone,” Dr. Jalloh expressed on X [formerly Twitter].
Speaking to investors at the Forum, the Honourable Vice President emphasized that the government of President Julius Maada Bio had created favorable enabling conditions for foreign investors, including small and medium enterprises, to invest in Sierra Leone.
He explained the country’s investment potentials in the agriculture sector, taking into consideration its abundant rainfall and highly fertile land. He also showcased profitable investment opportunities in energy, infrastructure, digitization, mining, transport, tourism and other sectors.
On the said Investment Forum, a report from the Sierra Leone Embassy in Belgium, also accredited to France, noted that presentations were done by Sierra Leone’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Ibrahim Alpha Sesay; Hannah Max Kyne Minister of Water Resource; Deputy Executive Director of the National Investment Board, Fatima Mahawa Sandi; and Presidential Adviser on Economic and Financial Policy, Joe Dembi. Testimonies from investors in Sierra Leone, including INVEST SALONE, ORANGE, PROPARCO SIERRA AKKER and SONOCO and lots of investors showed commitment and need to come to Sierra Leone and invest.
The Vice President was accompanied by the Sierra Leone Ambassador to Belgium accredited to France, Ambassador Samuel Tamba Musa.
