The global marketing team of YouBest (YOUBEST) China has successfully concluded a series of strategically significant high-level meetings in Sierra Leone, marking a key milestone in the company’s expansion across the African continent.
The delegation, which recently visited Sierra Leone was led by Dr Sisi Luo. It covered multiple dimensions — including governmental authorities, major healthcare institutions, and Chinese medical professionals stationed in Sierra Leone — laying a solid foundation for the localization and implementation of YouBest’s innovative diagnostic products in Sierra Leone and the rest of the West African regon.
During the intensive multi stakeholder engagement, the YouBest delegation engaged in in-depth discussions with four major decision-making officials within Sierra Leone’s healthcare system and received strong support from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Sierra Leone.

Counsellor Zhang Dianbin and Embassy Physician Dr.Yin Xia commended YouBest’s technological innovation and product quality, expressing the Embassy’s commitment to supporting high-quality Chinese enterprises in entering the Sierra Leonean market and contributing to the development of the local healthcare sector.
At the institutional level, the team visited Connaught Hospital — the largest referral and teaching hospital in Sierra Leone — and met with its Manager Dr. I.M. Kapuwa, as well as Dr. Peter, head of the China–Sierra Leone Friendship Hospital based in Jui, in the outskirts of Freetown.These two hospitals represent both the most influential medical institutions in the country and the hallmark of China–Sierra Leone medical cooperation.
The team also held discussions with Chinese volunteer doctors currently working in Sierra Leone, gaining valuable first-hand clinical feedback on the country’s diagnostic and laboratory needs.

At the government level, YouBest held official meetings with the Senior Permanent Secretary Mr Sorie Lawrence Kamara and Chief Medical Officer Dr Sartie Kanneh of the Ministry of Health
After carefully reviewing YouBest’s technical documentation, Dr. Kanneh proposed the idea of organizing a dedicated virtual meeting following the team’s return to China to explore technical details and potential national implementation.
In a separate meeting, Deputy Chief Medical Officer (Clinical Services) Dr. Mustapha Kabbah lauded the YouBest innovative products and reached important consensus with the YouBest delegation on pathways for integrating YouBest’s diagnostic solutions into Sierra Leone’s national healthcare network.

Regarding product registration, the team met with Dr. Sheku Mansaray, representing the Pharmacy Board of Sierra Leone, where both sides clarified the regulatory framework and discussed local adaptation strategies to ensure compliance and market readiness.
Dr. Ibrahim Seaga Shaw, the YouBest Country Representative in Sierra Leone, commented: “From government leadership to frontline clinical experts, this comprehensive exchange deepened our understanding of Sierra Leone’s healthcare ecosystem. In particular, insights from Chinese volunteer doctors provided highly valuable guidance for the local adaptation of our diagnostic technologies.”
Following the visit, YouBest will immediately implement three key action plans:
- Convene an internal technical meeting with the company’s Chief Medical Officer;
- Refine product specifications and documentation based on the multi-level feedback collected during the visit;
- Develop a detailed roadmap for follow-up collaboration and product registration/deployment.
This successful mission represents a major milestone in YouBest’s global expansion strategy. The company will continue to deepen its presence in the African market by providing high-quality diagnostic solutions and contributing to the improvement of local healthcare systems and public health outcomes. The company will in collaboration with Gemstar Pharmacy, which has been appointed as the Sole distributor of YouBest products in Sierra Leone will be hosting a conference on Infectious diseases and diagnostic biotechnology on the 13-14th November, 2025 at the Family Kingdom Resort in Freetown bringing together health policy makers and medical, pharmaceutical, and laboratory professionals.
