Magistrate Wilbri Hamida M. John of Magistrate Court No. 2 in Kenema has sentenced two men, Ishmeal Konneh of Mansoma Village and Ishmeal Sesay of Largo Village, to a combined 24 months’ imprisonment at the Sierra Leone Correctional Service (SLCS) for separate counts of larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to court records, on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Mansoma Village in the Lower Bambara Chiefdom, Kenema District, Konneh stole eight bags of charcoal valued at Four Hundred New Leones (NLe 400), the property of Jonathan Momoh. He pleaded guilty, begged for mercy, and was sentenced to 12 months in prison.

In the same courtroom, Sesay was arraigned for a similar offense. On Monday, August 4, 2025, at Largo Village, Nongowa Chiefdom, Kenema Judicial District, he stole 250 cocoa pods valued at Five Hundred New Leones (NLe 500), the property of Sheku Duwati. Sesay also pleaded guilty and requested leniency, but was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment.

Both matters were prosecuted by Police Sergeant Bakarr Watta of the Legal and Justice Support Department, Kenema Police Division.
