Tennis Association Executive to Address Burning Issues

By Dadson A Musa

The Sierra Leone Tennis Association executive met on Saturday, 16th. August to deliberate on matters affecting tennis since the incessant court back that stalled the game of tennis for the past four years or so. The meeting attended also by some members of the NOC and stadium management dwelled on the misappropriation of ITF fund meant for the upgrade of a new court which was central to the gathering.

Andy Bam, president of the association revealed to the August body that he has taken the matter to the ACC and is therefore waiting for their prompt and decisive action. He further called on coaches to draw up plans targeting junior tennis players as they are the future. Yayah who’s the former secretary general of the association and now a member of the NOC entreated the executive to come out with working plans to revive tennis in the country as we have been missing out a lot.

Mr. Benjamin who’s the financial officer of the association called on members to outsource funding for the development of the game locally while waiting for ITF to send, also, there was clarion call for unity in the association so that desired results can be achieved. And members were cautioned to desist from any activity that would hinder the success of the association.
