The six- member delegation that left for Uganda to represent Sierra Leone in a squash tournament has returned home after putting up a brilliant performance against the other African countries.
In a squash tournament organized for sixteen African countries, Sierra Leone took part with sponsorship from Sierra Fishing Company headed by Bassem Sahid Mohamed. The Sierra Leone delegation had four players, one executive member and one coach.
There was no female representation from Sierra Leone so all four players from Sierra Leone were men. Out of sixteen countries, Sierra Leone won a couple matches beating some countries. And the team ended up in seventh place. Individual players from Sierra Leone were ranked 7th, 11th and 13th out of sixteen countries that took part in the tournament.
In the grand finals, Nigerian ladies won in the non-PSA category while Zambian men won in their category. In the PSA men category, Egypt won it in the ladies’ category.
