The Sierra Leone football association (SLFA) has opened registration for the 2025/26 talent development Scheme (TDS) League, beginning with youth teams in the Western Area, the move marks a key milestone in the SLFA’s broader technical development strategy, which aims to identify, nurture, and elevate emerging football talent nationwide.

In a public notice issued on Wednesday, the SLFA invited all eligible youth clubs in the western area to collect registration forms for participation in the upcoming TDS season, the program targets four categories

Under-15 Boys and Girls, under-17 Boys and Girls registration forms will be available at the SLFA Secretariat from Wednesday, December 10 to Friday, December 12, 2025, between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM daily, completed forms must be submitted no later than Monday, December 15, 2025.

The Western Area registration marks the first phase of a nationwide rollout. According to the SLFA, similar drives will take place in other regions over the coming weeks to ensure fair access to youth development pathways across the country.

The TDS remains a central pillar of the SLFA’s long-term technical growth plan, designed to create a structured and inclusive system through which young players can transition into elite football.

SLFA officials reiterated the association’s commitment to strengthening grassroots football, stressing that early talent development and broad participation are critical to boosting Sierra Leone’s competitiveness on both the national and international stage.
