Depending on who you talk to, the coming election of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists is one that is going to be very decisive. Even without a doubt, it is clear that Mustapha MK Sesay is having a lot of support and sympathy from almost ‘all the big media guns,’ but Manika has the energy and he also seems to get the empathy of a number of SLAJ enthusiasts. If that is to tell us anything, we could be in for some long ride.
The Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) an association governing the journalism body in the African country is gearing cowards its fourth election in June 2025.
This election underscores the association’s commitment to upholding the principles of democracy. Journalists and media practitioners are watchdogs to holding public authorities accountable.
In the end, let’s see how it goes, because in reality, anything can happen. May the best man win!
