The newly appointed Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Sierra Leone to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Abdul Aziz Turay, on Wednesday, 9th October, 2024, arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to officially assume duty.

Ambassador Turay was warmly received at the King Khalid International Airport Executive Lounge by the Head of Chancery of the Sierra Leone Embassy, Alhaji Ahmed Tejan Kabba, Counsellor Mohamed Victor Kamara, and a cross section of the Embassy staff.

The Deputy Ambassador was appointed on the 1st July, 2024 and received Parliamentry approval on the 16th July following his successful interview by the Committee on Appointment and Public Service.

The newly appointed Sierra Leonean envoy took leave of His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio at State House on Thursday, 3rd October, 2024.

Deputy Ambassador Abdul Aziz Turay will work with Ambassador Mohamed Sheriff Barrie to further strengthen and advance the existing bilateral relationship between the Republic of Sierra Leone and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Syria and the Sultanate of Oman.
