Sierra Leonean journalist and media personality Davida Spaine-Solomon continues to make strides in the field of journalism and advocacy, earning international recognition for her work in investigative reporting and gender empowerment. Currently a presenter and reporter at Rise Radio 96.4 FM, she has been selected for prestigious programs, including the 2024 African Investigative Journalism Conference (AIJC2024) and the 2025 Aspire Leaders Program.

With over three years of experience in journalism, Davida Spaine-Solomon has built a reputation for covering critical issues such as social justice, development, and gender advocacy. Her dedication to storytelling and justice has not only earned her respect in the media industry but has also positioned her as a leading voice for women and girls’ empowerment in Sierra Leone.

Beyond journalism, Davida is a passionate advocate against child and human trafficking, a cause that has gained her humanitarian recognition. She actively raises awareness on these pressing issues, using her platform to amplify the voices of marginalized communities.

Her commitment to investigative journalism was further strengthened through her participation in the 2024 African Investigative Journalism Conference (AIJC2024), where she was supported by the Africa-China Reporting Project (ACRP) to gain insights into global investigative reporting practices.

In addition to her media work, Davida is also an entrepreneur, managing her own perfume business while pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism at LICSSAL Business College. She continues to expand her expertise, recently being selected for the African Tax Administrations Communicators and Tax Journalists Engagement, hosted in Burkina Faso by the African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) and the African Tax Media Network (ATMEN).

As she advances in her career, Davida remains committed to using journalism as a tool for change, ensuring that critical social issues remain in the public spotlight.
