
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday concluded its 5th Hajj Conference & Exhibition with the theme “From Makkah to the World”. The four-day event, held at the Superdome in Jeddah, featured over 143 dialogue sessions and workshops, with participation from experts and speakers from over 150 countries.
The conference provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss and share innovative ideas on improving Hajj services. During the contracting session, Sierra Leone was commended for meeting the 2026 Hajj benchmarks so far, securing a quota of 3,500 pilgrims. , Dr. Badr Muhammad Al Solami, Adviser to the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, commended Sierra Leone for meeting the 2026 Hajj benchmarks, prompting the audience and participants of other countries to applaud for Sierra Leone, recognizing the efforts of the Chairman of the Presidential Taskforce on Hajj, Alhaji Murtada Sesay, his team, and the Ambassador of Sierra Leone to Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Moahammed Barrie for what he referred to as “their great efforts to putting Sierra Leone at the top,” urging the other countries to emulate.
In his brief address at the closing ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Affairs, His Excellency Abdulfattah bin Suleiman Mashat, highlighted successes and initiatives undertaken during the conference, acknowledging innovative ideas and contributions from various sectors.
The conference showcased the comprehensive Hajj ecosystem, engaging sectors such as travel, transportation, healthcare, and technology.
Sierra Leone’s achievement is a testament to its commitment to improving its Hajj services.
