Sierra Leone and Agilix Labs Partner to Launch AI-Powered Future Learning Institute at 2025 Education World Forum

In a landmark move to modernize its education sector, the government of Sierra Leone has signed a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with U.S.-based education technology firm, Agilix Labs, Inc., to establish the future learning institute (FLI) an ambitious initiative that will harness the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to transform vocational and higher education across the country.

Wednesday, 21st May 2025 the signing ceremony took place at the prestigious lancaster House in central London, during the 2025 education world forum (EWF) the world’s largest annual gathering of education ministers and global policymakers.

Representing Sierra Leone at the forum was Dr. Haja Ramatulai Wurie, Minister of technical and higher education, who formally signed the MoU with Agilix Labs, this strategic partnership marks a pivotal moment in Sierra Leone’s journey to integrate cutting-edge technology into its education system, positioning the country as a regional leader in educational innovation.

Through this collaboration, the Future Learning Institute will become a centre of excellence for AI-enhanced learning, offering intelligent tools for curriculum development, student assessment, adaptive tutoring, and digital course delivery.

Under the terms of the MoU Agilix Labs will supply the technological infrastructure for FLI, including: Advanced authoring tools AI-powered tutoring platforms Digital assessment technologies Customizable course delivery systems the company will also facilitate implementation support, including staff training workshops and ongoing technical assistance.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education will Host FLI facilities in Sierra Leone Lead financial and grant management Coordinate national outreach and integration of FLI programs

Minister Wurie described the partnership as a significant step forward in Sierra Leone’s educational resurgence and growing global recognition, she reaffirmed the government’s commitment to embracing digital learning solutions as part of a broader strategy to make education more accessible, inclusive, and aligned with future job markets.

Signing on behalf of Agilix Labs was Curt Allen, President, CEO, and Co-founder of the company, which is globally recognized for its innovative learning platforms, including Buzz and TutorKit tools used in educational systems around the world.
