Amara Junior Kamara, a security guard, appeared again before Magistrate Augustine Brima Samura at Pademba Road Court No. 4 in Freetown on charges of alleged theft and was granted bail, Kamara was arraigned on a count of larceny contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to the charge details, Kamara allegedly stole four rolls of mini meter core flex cable, four rolls of single earth cable, and other items valued at 56,220 new Leones. The items belonged to Design and Building Construction Limited, and the theft occurred on Tuesday, 29th April 2025 at Spur Road in Freetown while Kamara was under the custody of Cons Crop Security Company.

When the charge was read and explained, Kamara did not enter a plea due to the nature of the offense and the value involved, inspector Tejan A. Bangura, the prosecutor, requested an adjournment citing the absence of witnesses. Defense Counsel L. Ellis applied for bail on behalf of the accused.

Magistrate Samura granted bail set at sixty-five thousand Leones (Le 65,000) with two sureties each in the same amount. The magistrate ordered that each surety must be a resident of the Western Area in Freetown and provide a valid national passport or national ID card showing their Freetown address. The bail must be approved by the Deputy Assistant Registrar. The case is scheduled to return to court on 2nd June 2025.
