SALWACO’s Director of Maintenance Ing. Abu Kallon on 18th March, 2025 joined the SALWACO Eastern Regional team on an assessment visit at the Daru gravity scheme which has prevented the township from access to safe water supply.

PC Gombu Kla Kallon of Jawei Chiefdom welcomed the team comprising of Mr. Braima Allieu, Regional Manager- East, Station Manager, Kenema, including Ing. Sahr Keffa and the Director of Maintenance and referred to the visit as laudable and timely considering the current water challenge faced by the township of Daru.

With Support from resident Senior Plumber, Mr. James Koroma based in Daru, the extent of damage was established by the team and the requisite details taken for appropriate action.

The said proactive move is aimed at restoring water supply as soon as possible. Same is in line with the mission of SALWACO.

Earlier, SALWACO’s Director of Communication, Gender and Outreach was on air in Kenema to talk on water scarcity and plans to address matters. She further did an on-the-spot check at the Bo station to do thorough assessments etc.

Both moves are aimed at rightly positioning SALWACO in attaining
institutional productivity.
