In line with meeting the aspirations of the company, the Makeni and Bo Stations of SALWACO have continued to embark on developmental initiates that seek to enhance and maximize efficient revenue collection.

In Bo, a joint team from SALWACO and the National Water Resources Management Agency (NWRMA) recently conducted a comprehensive visit to various water packaging companies within the region. The primary goal was to identify and document water packaging operations that rely on boreholes and groundwater wells as their sources.

During the visit, the SALWACO team also engaged with business owners to educate them about the significant health risks associated with selling untreated or inadequately treated water to the public, emphasizing the importance of compliance with safety standards to prevent waterborne diseases and ensure consumer safety, thereby inviting clients to join SALWACO’S clean, safe affordable and reliable services.

In Makeni, the SALWACO leadership and Station team have successfully fixed one of the pumps at the station after days of breakdown. The restoration of water supply in Makeni suggests a strategic decision to meet the mission of providing safe drinking water for people.

Similar moves have also been made in other SALWACO areas of operations like in Kenema, Kambia, Port Loko, Lungi and Bonthe. Water provision outside Freetown is a core mandate of the institution as it helps in enhancing effective service delivery.

SALWACO however continues to appeal to customers to pay for services on time if not in time. To make payment easier, faster and convenient, the institution recently launched payments via Orange Money, Afri-Money and via the Rokel Commercial Bank through its Sim Korpor transactions.

With these moves, SALWACO is poised to continue to provide services while hoping and expecting customers to also meet their own side of the bargain. This is what will enhance a win-win situation.
