The Right to Access Information Commission (RAIC) recently held a Special Dinner and Awards Night at the Family Kingdom Resort at Aberdeen, Freetown to climax its 10th anniversary and recognize persons and institutions who have been using and compliant to the Right to Access Information (RAI) law to request for and/or respond to information request.

The first category of awardees are those ministries, departments and agencies that have their Proactive Disclosure Scheme approved since 2019. The awardees are as follow:

  14. Ministry of The Environment and Climate Change
  15. National Authorizing Office (NAO)
  16. Human Resource Management Office (HRMO)
  17. Ministry of Youth Affairs
  18. Civil Service Training College
  19. Cabinet Secretariat
  20. Local Government Service Commission
  21. National Commission for Democracy (NCD)

The second category of awardees are information requesters (persons/institutions) that hat have consistently used the Right to Access Information Law to request for information since 2019. They contribute significantly to the rapidly growing number of information requests over the years. The awardees are as follow:

The third category of awardees are those ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) that have consistently excelled in submitting Annual Compliance Reports (ACRs) since 2019. The awardees are as follow:

  3. Sierra Leone Correctional Services
  4. Anti -Corruption Commission (ACC)
  5. Political Party Registration Commission (PPRC)

The fourth and final category of awardees are those ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) that regularly responded to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests since 2019. The awardees are as follow:
