Ms. Jenneh Jabati, the proposed Deputy Minister 2 of Finance, appeared before Sierra Leone’s Parliamentary Committee on Appointments and the Public Service on Friday1 August, 2025, to respond to questions assessing her suitability for the role.
During the vetting session, Ms. Jabati outlined her extensive professional background, noting that she has served for over 37 years at the Bank of Sierra Leone. She emphasized that her decades of experience in the financial sector have equipped her with the expertise needed to effectively contribute as Deputy Minister, if confirmed.
I believe in teamwork and achieving results, Ms. Jabati stated, expressing her willingness to work in close collaboration with the Minister of Finance to advance the Ministry’s development agenda.
She described herself as a woman of integrity, committed to ethical conduct and strict compliance with financial regulations and public service standards. When questioned about her leadership style, Ms. Jabati explained that her decision-making is informed by situational analysis, sound judgment, and a results-oriented approach.
Highlighting her strong administrative and organizational skills, she pledged to bring efficiency, transparency, and professionalism to the Ministry of Finance, contributing to the government’s broader efforts to promote and sustain economic growth.
Ms. Jabati’s vetting is a significant step in the government’s ongoing process of assembling a competent and accountable leadership team within the Finance Ministry.
She is expected to be formally approved along with other political appointees on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, during a session in the Chamber of Parliament.
