The newly constituted 2023/24 Sierra Leone Premier League Board under the leadership of Chairman Victor Lewis has on Thursday 28th September 2023 met with Premier League Clubs at the Sierra Leone Football Association board room.
During this meeting, several issues were discussed which but not limited to the following:
- That the season will commence with a community shield to be played between last season’s champions Bo Rangers vs Mighty Blackpool who came second. The proposed date is slated for 28th October 2023
- That the league will officially commence on the 3rd November 2023.
- For a start, clubs will be given 80million Old Leones each. The Board will receive 1.5Billion old Leones from SLFA
- That the winner for this year’s league will receive 500million old Leones, and runners up 250million old Leones
- That the closing date for clubs’ registration is on the 27th October 2023 and for the very first time in our country’s football history, FIFA connect (online registration of players) will be used in our league
- That for this season, the Board will hopefully introduce the reviewed PLB rules and regulations documented from Brookfield Hotel in 2022.
