The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has dismissed Sergeant Musa Sidikie Swaray (PIN 225521), formerly attached to the Mile 91 Police Division, following findings of gross misconduct and drug-related offences.

According to a confidential memo issued by the Directorate of Professional Standards, Sgt. Swaray was found guilty on four disciplinary counts, including improper practice, unlawful possession of illegal drugs, discreditable conduct, and other acts of misconduct in violation of the Police Discipline Regulations of 2001.

The matter was investigated and adjudicated by the Police Delegated Disciplinary Tribunal (PDDT), which determined that the officer’s actions contravened the Force’s First, Second, and Third Schedules governing professional behaviour and ethical standards.

Upon review of the tribunal’s findings, the Director of Professional Standards, AIG Francis Mosesi Towe, approved the recommendation for dismissal and ordered the immediate retrieval of all police-issued items from Sgt. Swaray.

A statement from the Directorate underscored the decision as part of the Force’s ongoing efforts to uphold accountability, integrity, and zero tolerance for corruption or criminal conduct among its ranks.

“The Sierra Leone Police remains committed to enforcing discipline within the organization and ensuring that officers who violate the law or betray public trust face the necessary consequences,” the statement read in part.

The dismissal of Sgt. Swaray serves as another example of the SLP’s broader campaign to strengthen professionalism and combat drug-related offences within and beyond the service.
