The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, who doubles as the Chairman of the Public Account Committee (PAC), Hon. Ibrahim Tawa Conteh, has recently summoned Union Trust Bank (UTB) to appear before the Committee in Parliament to answer to queries relating to Audit Report 2022.
Whilst investigating the Audit Report on Sierra Leone Roads Safety Authority (SLRSA), PAC found out that there was some money paid by SLRSA to one of UTB’s branches in Kenema which did not reflect.
The Deputy Speaker also ordered SLRSA to bring all bank statements for scrutiny, stressing that the Authority failed to reconcile revenue collected which should be daily. He maintained that people should treat the institution very seriously. “We are going to write Union Trust Bank and we are going to get our money,” the lawmaker asserted.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Speaker stated that the leave granted to the Director of licences at SLRSA should be revoked in order for him to appear before Parliament.
