A powerful commitment to collaboration and youth development was affirmed during a courtesy visit by Madam Muniratu Issifu, Country Director of Plan International, to the Minister of Youth Affairs, Min. Ibrahim Sannoh, at his office in Freetown, August 6, 2025 the meeting underscored a mutual dedication to advancing youth empowerment, expanding educational opportunities, and promoting gender equality throughout Sierra Leone.
Madam Issifu praised the Ministry’s proactive efforts in supporting youth-led initiatives and reiterated Plan International’s pledge to bolster programs focused on digital literacy, vocational training, mental health awareness, and youth leadership.
“Plan International is fully committed to standing with Sierra Leone’s youth,” she declared. “We aim to work hand-in-hand with the Ministry to amplify their voices and support their aspirations.”
Minister Sannoh warmly received the visit, viewing it as a catalyst for more impactful, youth-centered development. Young people are not only our future but our present,” he emphasized. “We are focused on forging partnerships that create tangible opportunities for Sierra Leone’s youth.”
Both leaders committed to exploring collaborative projects, pooling resources, and enhancing youth platforms across the country. With Sierra Leone’s vibrant youth population poised for greatness, this strengthened partnership paves the way for transformative progress, driven by the very generation it aims to uplift.
