Orange Network Disruptions

In Mile 91 town, Tonkolili District, for over a week, residents have been experiencing severe network disruptions with Orange Sierra Leone, affecting both communication and financial transactions. Customers and Orange Money agents have raised concerns about the negative impact on their daily activities, urging the company to address the issue immediately.

Mohamed Kamara, an Orange Money agent in Mile 91, described the challenges faced by agents and customers. “Our business depends on a stable network. Without it, we cannot process transactions, and this affects our income. Customers come to us for withdrawals and deposits, but we are unable to assist them,” he lamented.

Many residents have echoed similar frustrations, highlighting difficulties in making calls, accessing mobile data, and conducting financial transactions. “We rely on Orange Money for business and personal transactions, but this disruption has left us stranded,” said one affected customer.

The National Communications Authority (NatCA) recently issued a warning to Orange Sierra Leone regarding persistent network issues, demanding urgent improvements. Despite previous commitments by the company to enhance service quality, the situation in Mile 91 remains unresolved.

Most of the time They notify us when there is break down as Agents. ” But this week nothing like that happens and it brings loses to us as agents even when you want to buy Top- up for your phone or mega bite”. He stated.

Customers and business owners in the town are calling on Orange Sierra Leone to take immediate action to restore reliable network services.  Our top up is also stolen by the Office most of the time. If the issues persist, many say they may be forced to seek alternatives, affecting Orange’s market share in the area.
