
The Office of the Vice President emerged as champions of the Inter-Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA) Football Gala, winning the final match against the Ministry of Finance on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regular time.
Also, the National Petroleum Regulatory Agency (NPRA) secured third place after the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL) refused to continue their match due to what they described as a controversial sending off for their player.
Champions (Office of the Vice President)- NLe 100,000, Runners-up (Ministry of Finance)- NLe 70,000 and Third Place (NPRA)- NLe 50,000.
Tom Bongay from the Office of the Vice President was presented the top goal scorer- 8, Sulaiman Bangura of Ministry of Finance was named as player of the tournament whilst Mohamed I. Mansaray drom from the Vice President’s Office won the golden glove.
The official kick-off and presentation of the champions trophy was done by Mr. Baba Fortune, Secretary to the President.
The National Sports Authority (NSA) organized this gala to promote teamwork, camaraderie, and healthy competition among government institutions, fostering collaboration and mutual respect.
The NSA remains thankful to all MDAs, the media, Sierra Leone Police, supporters, and football fans for their contributions to the gala’s success.
