Executive Committee Members of the Sierra Leone Cycling Association have presented Tour d Ivory Coast Championship trophy to the NSA Chief and his team.
Speaking at the Authority’s Signal Hill Road Office on Wednesday, Abdul Karim (Stylish) said that the association is now ranked high on the continent after winning the Ivorian Tour Championship 2024.
“We have secured $9000 from our partner, we are using the money to fund two female cyclists to participate in an international competition in Uganda, marking it the first time to expose the female athletes outside the country,” Karim said.
“We want NSA to be our main sponsor for our annual Tour d Lunsar. We remain thankful to the Government of Sierra Leone for supporting the association in the last Africa Games,” Karim summarized.
Spanking, Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai congratulated the association and the athletes in particular for flying the country’s flag higher in Tour d Ivory Coast and assures the association of government support in 2025.
“Cyclist is doing well, referencing their annual Tour d Lunsar, which is now attracting international cyclists, describing it as massive.
“We need to have a technical conversation on the possibility of touring other places of the country to make Tour d Lunsar more inclusive,” the Chief said.
The National Sports Authority is an agency of Government established by an Act of Parliament with the mandate to promote, encourage, develop, and supervise all sports and sporting activities in Sierra Leone and to provide for other related matters.
