National Youth Sector Caucus Pays Courtesy Call on NAYCOM

By Kadiatu A. Turay

The National Youth Commission (NAYCOM) has welcomed a distinguished delegation from the National Youth Sector Caucus (NYSC), a coalition of seasoned professionals dedicated to advancing youth development in Sierra Leone.

The courtesy visit, held at NAYCOM’s headquarters in Freetown, marked the beginning of a renewed partnership between the two institutions, both of which play vital roles in shaping opportunities for the country’s young people.

Commissioner Joseph Maada Lahai, in his remarks, expressed profound appreciation for the visit, describing it as timely and strategic. He emphasized that strengthening collaboration with key partners such as the NYSC remains essential in consolidating efforts within the youth development ecosystem.

“This engagement is not only significant but also necessary if we are to create a stronger framework that empowers young people to contribute meaningfully to national growth,” Commissioner Lahai noted.

The meeting served as a platform to exchange ideas on shared priorities, identify opportunities for joint initiatives, and reaffirm a collective commitment to addressing the pressing challenges facing Sierra Leone’s youth. Both NAYCOM and the NYSC pledged to deepen their collaboration in pursuit of a brighter and more inclusive future for the nation’s younger generation.
