The Ministry of Information and Civic Education has, on Friday 21st June, 2024, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Universidad Catolica Silva Henriquez (UCSH), ABC Lab Santiago, Chile to formalize the collaboration between the Ministry and UCSH, ABC Lab in supporting the implementation and enhancing the output on the Civic Education National Strategy and Salone Community Service Learning (SCSL).
The agreement was signed at the Minister’s office 8th floor Youyi Building Freetown by the Minister of Information and Civic Education Chernor Bah on behalf of the Ministry of Information and Civic Education, and Dr. Hector Opazo on behalf of Universidad Catolica Silva Henriquez.
The MoU is towards enhancing civic education across Sierra Leone, fostering democratic life purposes and civic engagement at all levels of our society. It also focuses on utilizing Community Service Learnig – CSL – as a community catalyst in promoting civic knowledge, open government, digital citizenship, and coordinated multi-level actions.
