The Ministry of Health has taken prompt and resolute action to reaffirm the government’s dedication to immunization funding.

During a press conference led by the Minister of Health, Dr. Austin Demby, the Ministry assured the public of the government’s unwavering commitment to meeting its co-financing obligations for immunization with UNICEF. Dr. Demby confirmed that preparations are well advanced, with cheques already signed to fulfill the co-financing agreement with GAVI ahead of the August 31, 2025 deadline.

This swift response highlights the Ministry’s steadfast commitment to sustaining immunization programs, protecting public health, and enhancing immunization coverage across Sierra Leone.
