Massive Arrest of Drug Dealers in Kenema

In a renewed effort to combat drug-related crime in Kenema, the Local Unit Commander, Chief Superintendent Alphonso Ambulai Fahnbulleh, led a highly coordinated and successful operation in collaboration with Superintendent Gabriel Kamara, Coordinator for the Operations Support Division (OSD), and Inspector Mohamed Corneh, Operations Officer of the Kenema Division.

The operation, carried out with the support of a dedicated team of police personnel, targeted key drug distribution zones across the city. The coordinated raids resulted in the disruption and dismantling of several major drug sale points, dealing a significant blow to both traffickers and users.

The Sierra Leone Police described the operation as a major milestone in its ongoing campaign to rid communities of the harmful impact of drug abuse and trafficking, the mission of the police is clear to rid Kenema City of the drugs that are destroying lives and threatening our future generations, chief Superintendent Fahnbulleh said, we will continue to act decisively against anyone involved in these illegal activities.

During the operation, ten suspects were arrested for various offenses, including unlawful possession of narcotic substances and other drug-related crimes. All suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with the investigation.

The operation was met with relief and support from local residents. Mr. Sannoh, a resident of Samai Town, expressed deep appreciation for the police effort:

Drugs have brought so much pain to our communities, we are grateful to the police for taking this seriously, we pray this battle continues until our children and families are safe, he said.

The police leadership has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting communities in Kenema and surrounding areas, vowing that the fight against drug-related offenses will be relentless.

We will not rest until these illegal activities are eliminated from our city, police officials declared.This latest crackdown underscores the Sierra Leone Police’s determination to secure a safer, drug-free future for all citizens.
