Man Sentenced to Five Years

Thirty-three-year-old Mohamed Kallon, resident of 5 Second Street in Kenema has been sentenced to five years imprisonment by Magistrate Sheka Kamara of Magistrate Court No.1 in Kenema for possession and use of drugs contrary to Sec.8(a) of the National Drugs control act No.10 of 2008.

The accused on Friday, July 5, 2024, along Dama Road in Kenema, was found in possession of 25.0 grams of Kush. He was arrested and brought to the Kenema Police Station by Police Constable 23005 Bockarie Koroma and others attached to the operation office in Kenema.

Mohamed Kallon was found in possession of One Hundred and thirty-three (133) wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Kush. He admitted to the allegation.

The alleged drugs were taken to the forensic toxicologist for examination, analysis and report. The result was handed over to the investigation team which proved positive.

The accused pleaded guilty and begged for mercy and was sentenced to 5yrs.imprisonmrnt.

The matter was prosecuted by Police Sergeant David attached to the Legal and Justice Support Department at the Kenema Police Station.
