Magistrate Mustapha Briama-Jah of Magistrate Court No.2 in Kenema has recently sentenced one Moses Bundu, a farmer of Gborbu Village to Three (3) years imprisonment for larceny contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to a prosecutor, PC 13536 Moseray Sylvester Alfred, Moses Bundu on May 20, 2024 at Gelehun Village Bush, Small-Bo Chiefdom, Kenema District in the Eastern Province, stole twenty-five (25) bags of charcoals valued one thousand, two hundred and fifty New Leones (NLe 1, 250) property of Sao Abdul.
The accused pleaded guilty and begged for mercy and he was sentenced to three years imprisonment.
In the same court room, one Usman Bah of No.18 Kengeh Street in Kenema was sentenced to eighteen (18) months imprisonment for Domestic Violence contrary to Section 2(1) of the Domestic Violence Act No.20 of 2007.
According to female Police Constable 13576, Fatmata Sillah, Usman Bah on Wednesday, May 23, 2024, at number 18 Kengeh Street in Kenema, unreasonably disposed one DVD player valued one hundred United States Dollars equivalent two thousand, three hundred New Leones (Le 2,300), three bed spread valued one thousand and thirty New Leones (NLe 1,030), three pairs of shoes valued three hundred and fifty New Leones and other assorted items all to the total value of four thousand, two hundred and twenty New Leones (4,200).
