Idrisa Musa, aged 16years of No. 3 Upper Kabba Street, Burma 3 Section in Kenema has arrainged before Justice Francis Banks-Kamara of the High Court in Kenema for Sexual Penetration. He was charged to Court for Sexual Penetration of a child contrary to Sec.19 of the Sexual offences Act 2012, Act No.12 of 2012 as repealed and replaced by Sec.4(a)(ii) of the Sexual offences Amendment Act 2019, Act No. 8 of 2019.

According to Mathew. P.M. Lappia, State Counsel and Customary Law Officer in Kenema District, the Accused on March 29, 2023 at Burma 3 Section in Kenema, engaged in an act of Sexual Penetration with a Nine (9yrs) years old Child. He was found guilty and Sentenced to Sixteen (16yrs.) Years Imprisonment.

In his ruling, Justice Banks-Kamara asked the Accused how old was he and the Accused said, twenty-five (25yrs.) Years whilst the victim was Nine Years Old(9yrs.). The Judge further asked the Accused if 9yrs.was deducted from 25yrs.the Accused’s response was Sixteen Years(16yrs.). “Does it mean you were 16yrs.old when you started doing Sexual Intercourse”? A question put to him by the Judge. The Accused, Idrisa Musa was Sentenced to 16yrs. Imprisonment.

He was represented by Defence Counsel, Patrick Kamara of Legal Aid Board in Kenema District.
