Girl Child Network Sierra Leone, alongside the Community of Practice (COP), marked Post-African Child’s Day with a vibrant commemoration, on Thursday, June 19, 2025, this event united key stakeholders’ representatives from the ministry of social welfare, the Children’s Forum Network, the Family support unit, and various child-focused organizations to honour the past and inspire the future.
The gathering reflected on the historical struggles of youth, notably their role in resisting apartheid, while reaffirming dedication to advancing children’s rights and welfare in Sierra Leone, the day featured educational sessions, insightful panel discussions, and lively cultural performances, celebrating the courage of young justice advocates, these activities also aimed to empower the next generation to champion their rights relentlessly, as the nation reflects at this hour, this commemoration stands as a powerful call to action for continued advocacy and support for Sierra Leone’s children.
