21-year-old Alhaji Sheku, a miner of Deima Town in Kenema District has been committed to high court by Magistrate Shaka. P. Kamara of Magistrate Court No.1 in Kenema for store breaking and larceny contrary to Section 26(1) of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the prosecution, the accused,  Alhaji Sheku, on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Deima Town, Kandu Leppiama Chiefdom, Kenema Judicial District in the Eastern province, broke and entered into the store of Abass Ayah Conteh and stole one five gallon rubber containing two gallons of petrol valued at Two Hundred and Eighty Five New Leones (NLe 285.00), one old shaker valued at Sixty New Leones (NLe 60.00), Two old shovels valued at Three Hundred New Leones (NLe 300.00) and One old Robbin five inches building machine valued at Five Thousand New Leones (NLe 5,000.00) all to the total valued of Five Thousand, Six Hundred and Forty Five New Leones (NLe 5,645.00) properties of the said Abass  Ayah Conteh. No plea taken and the accused was remanded at the Sierra Leone Correctional Centre in Kenema whilst the matter was Committed to high court for Trial.

In his ruling, Magistrate Shaka Kamara, having heard from the prosecution sucking the fact of the case and records of the accused with sufficient evidences in the preliminary investigation (PI), he therefore committed the accused, Alhaji Sheku to stand trial at the high court.

The matter was prosecuted by Police Sergeant Bakarr Watta attached to the Legal and Justice Support Department at the Kenema Police Station.
