Magistrate Sheka Kamara of Magistrate Court No.1 in Kenema has on January 23rd, 2024, sentenced one Vandy Konneh of No.17 Moriba Street, Torkpombu 2 Section in Kenema to two years imprisonment for larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to prosecution, the Accused on Monday, December 18th, 2023, at Dama Road Round about, Kenema, Nongowa Chiefdom, Kenema Judicial District in the Eastern province of the Republic of Sierra Leone, stole by trick Samsung galaxy android mobile phone valued at Three Thousand New Leones (NLe 3000/00), property of Musa Konneh. The Accused pleaded guilty and begged for mercy and he was sentenced to two years imprisonment.
The matter was prosecuted by Police Constable Samai, attached to the Legal and Justice Support Department at the Kenema Police Station; whilst the accused person was represented by defence counsel Patrick Kamara of Legal Aid Board for Kenema District.
