PUBLIC NOTICE 

NOTIFICATION FOR PUBLIC DISCLOSURE OF THE DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT (ESIA) REPORT FOR KINGHO MINING COMPANY (SL) LIMITED PROPOSED IRON ORE MINING (TAILINGS FACILITY PROJECT) IN TONKOLILI  DISTRICT.

This advert serves to notify interested persons/parties of the Draft Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) conducted on behalf of Kingho Mining Company (SL) Limited for their proposed Iron Ore Mining (Tailings Facility Project) in Tonkolili District of Sierra Leone.

In conformity and compliance with the Environment Protection Agency – Sierra Leone (EPA – SL) Act 2022, Kingho Mining Company (SL) Limited is required to plan and implement its Project in a manner that enhances positive impacts and minimizes potential negative environmental and socio-economic impacts. This is expected to be achieved through the ESIA process. The Draft ESIA Report has been prepared by Integrated Geo-information and Environmental Management Services (INTEGEMS) Limited on behalf of Kingho Mining Company (SL) Limited to address the environmental and social impacts related to the Project and has been authorised by the Environment Protection Agency for Disclosure to the Public.

The Draft ESIA Report will be presented to the general public, including affected communities and interested stakeholders during the public disclosure on:

• Thursday 03 July 2025 at Samgbaia Town Barray, Sambaia Chiefdom, Tonkolili District, Northern Province at 10:00 hrs

The report is now available for public review and comment at the following locations:

• The Environmental Protection Agency Sierra Leone (EPA-SL), 38 Freetown Road, Wilberforce Village, Freetown.
• Kingho Mining Company (SL) Limited Office, 20 Signal Hill Road, Freetown Sierra Leone.
• INTEGEMS Limited office at 8H Technical Institute Drive, Off Main Motor Road, Congo Cross Freetown.

Stakeholders and interested persons/parties are invited to participate in the consultation and disclosure process at the above locations.
