In a major boost for grassroots football in Kambia District, the Kambia District Football Association (KDFA) has received five brand-new motorbikes to support the administration and development of the sport across the region.

On Saturday 12 July 2025, the donation was made possible through the continued support of the President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Mr. Thomas Daddy Brima, who remains committed to strengthening football structures at the district level, with guidance and support from FIFA.

During a brief but impactful handing-over ceremony, KDFA Chairman Mr. Musa K.D. Mahmood officially received the motorbikes on behalf of the association. He expressed deep appreciation to the SLFA leadership for their sustained backing and their forward-looking vision for football development in the country.

We are truly grateful for this timely intervention, said Mr. Mahmood, these motorbikes will significantly ease the transportation challenges our officials face, particularly in reaching rural communities to monitor and coordinate football activities. We thank Mr. Thomas Daddy Brima and his executive team for recognizing and responding to the specific needs of Kambia District.”

The support is part of a broader national initiative aimed at decentralizing football resources, empowering local associations, and providing them with the necessary tools to identify talent, improve governance, and elevate the game at all levels.

Local coaches, club officials, and community stakeholders in Kambia have warmly welcomed the gesture, describing it as a meaningful step toward strengthening the district’s football ecosystem and encouraging youth participation in the sport.

This is not just about transport it’s about access, visibility, and opportunity, noted one local club representative, it means our teams in remote areas will no longer be left behind.

The SLFA’s investment in districts like Kambia reinforces its commitment to inclusive football development and lays a strong foundation for nurturing the next generation of Sierra Leonean football stars.
