In a commendable act of partnership between the legal and law enforcement sectors, Kakua Chambers, a reputable consortium of legal practitioners in Bo, has donated 50 bags of cement to support the construction of a new police cell at the Bo west police division.
The initiative was inspired by the leadership of the local unit commander (LUC), chief superintendent of police Augustine Kabia, whose commitment has reignited the long-stalled project to rebuild and expand the Bo west police cell. His proactive efforts to enhance police infrastructure while upholding human rights have earned widespread praise.
The donation, made on Tuesday, 28th October 2025, was led by Lawyer Monya Sheriff, managing partner of Kakua chambers and district secretary general of the Sierra Leone people’s party (SLPP) representing Mr. Sheriff at the event, Jah Melvin Sundufu Esq. mala emphasized that promoting human rights extends beyond courtroom advocacy.
A functional and rights-respecting police facility is the foundation of community justice. Supporting law enforcement infrastructure is also a way of protecting human dignity, he noted, receiving the donation, CSP Kabia expressed deep gratitude to Kakua Chambers, describing the gesture as both timely and impactful.
For years, the Bo west division has struggled with inadequate facilities, this support will help us meet national policing standards while safeguarding the rights of detainees, he stated, the donation underscores a growing spirit of collaboration between civil society and the police rooted in accountability, partnership, and mutual respect.
As Bo City continues to develop, this act of goodwill stands as a shining example of how communities and institutions can work together to build a fairer, safer, and more just society.
