Alhaji Juldeh Sowe, President of Tabital Pulaaku International – Sierra Leone chapter who doubles as Special Envoy to the President on Trade and Investment has explained to Expo Times his motive to sponsor the education of five hundred Sierra Leonean students.

He said the government cannot do everything to develop a nation, hence it needs the collaboration and support of development partners, citizens and non-governmental organizations, adding that it always good to support government agenda.

He said he got the inspiration to support the students during his school days, and that for over 25 years when BSB International came into the country, it has partnered with Tabital Pulaaku International Sierra Leone chapter in scholarship drive. “We are spending about Four Billion Five Hundred Thousand Old Leones and some of the students don’t even have launch and transportation. Others we even provide them jobs in our company,” he stated.

According to the leader, they are targeting vulnerable people, especially those without parents or those whose parents cannot afford to pay their school fees, saying some of the students find it difficult to get food. He added that “we don’t target tribe, region or religion.”

The presidential trade and investment envoy said BSB and Tabital Pulaaku international Sierra Leone chapter used to sponsor about three hundred students, adding that when the government of President Bio came to power, they were appreciated and got more support and now they are supporting about five hundred and more students within and outside the country. He maintained that they support students attending both public and private schools and universities across the country.

Alhaji Juldeh Sowe said they receive more than one thousand applications for support every year, but however noted that they cannot afford to support all of them, while asking the public to support their scholarship drive so that they can help more students.

The Tabital Pulaaku scholarship scheme has made a significant impact across the nation, covering both public and private educational institutions. With the initiative reaching students in all sixteen political districts of the country, it has transformed the lives of many, enabling them to pursue their academic dreams.
