A vibrant spirit of unity and advocacy filled Liberia’s academic halls as the Federation of Fullah Students of Liberia (FFUSOL) held its inaugural ceremony in Monrovia. The event, marked by inspiring speeches and a bold vision, signaled a new era for Fullah students in Liberia.
On May 1, 2025, Sulaiman Jalloh, a prominent youth leader from Sierra Leone’s Fullah community, delivered a powerful message on behalf of Chief Alhaji Alimmamy Chernor Mohammed Sajor Jalloh, the Fullah Tribal Head. His words brought cross-border solidarity and a call for transformation.
This is not just a celebration of leadership it’s the start of a movement, Jalloh declared to enthusiastic applause, your success is vital to Liberia’s progress.
Jalloh, representing a key Fullah leader, highlighted FFUSOL’s importance in Liberia. I bring warm greetings from Sierra Leone’s Fullah community, he said. It’s an honor to speak at this historic moment.”
His speech blended legacy with youthful optimism. He praised FFUSOL’s founders and urged students to embrace collaboration and innovation for national development. Addressing the event’s theme, one Struggle, One People, one Liberia: Fullah Students in the National Struggle for Academic Excellence and Socio-economic Inclusion,” Jalloh called it “a powerful call to action.”
Today begins a new chapter, he said. let collaboration, innovation, and a shared vision guide you, Jalloh encouraged students to use their talents to break down barriers in education that have marginalized Fullah communities. He advocated for scholarships, investment in underserved areas, and inclusive curricula. education builds greatness, he emphasized, for one Liberia,’ we must remove inequalities and ensure every student thrives.
Jalloh concluded with a hopeful message. “Leadership is about selfless service, not power. Let this year spark transformative projects and a legacy that inspires generations.”
His words resonated deeply, inspiring Liberia’s students beyond ethnic and national boundaries. The vision shared showed that united students can challenge norms, uplift communities, and shape an inclusive future.
The May 1 event was more than an inauguration it was a bold declaration that youth from underrepresented communities are ready to lead.
One FFUSOL member captured the spirit, saying, this is about the Liberia we want a place where everyone counts.
