In a significant operation targeting drug trafficking in Freetown west, police officers have seized six containers of suspected Kush, on 24 November 2025, including three barrels and three cartons, marking a major victory against illicit drug activities in the region.
The intelligence-led operation was executed under the direct supervision of Regional Commander AIG Sylvester M. N. Koroma, who mobilized his team across multiple locations based on actionable intelligence.
Two barrels were recovered from a Serena vehicle (ALA-080) driven by Yussif Sesay, while a third barrel was intercepted from a Toyota taxi (API-156) near Adonkia Cemetery in Goderich. Authorities also discovered three cartons of suspected kush at a residence linked to a woman named Patricia, who is currently at large.
During preliminary questioning, driver Yussif Sesay revealed that he had been contracted by Abdul Rahman Sesay to transport the barrels, Both men have since been taken into police custody, while efforts continue to locate and apprehend the taxi driver.
All seized items have been secured and are now awaiting forensic analysis to confirm their contents, the operation underscores the Freetown west police command’s commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks and signals a firm stance by AIG Koroma to enhance security and curb illegal drug circulation in the region.
