The event took place on Monday, April 22, 2024, as Superintendent Gogra made his inaugural appearance on the parade ground at the basement of the two-story under-construction Police facility on Ross Road, situated in the east-end of Freetown.

Welcoming Superintendent Gogra to his new role was LUC Kpulun, alongside his Support Officer, Superintendent Edward K Sesay. In his address, CSP Emmanuel Junior Sahr Kpulun emphasized the importance of leadership characterized by engagement and commitment, urging Superintendent Gogra to leverage his extensive policing experience for the betterment of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) without adopting an “I don’t care” attitude.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity bestowed upon him, Superintendent Mustapha Gogra extended his appreciation to Inspector-General of Police, Mr. William Fayia Sellu, and the police leadership for entrusting him with such a significant responsibility. Drawing from his 30 years of experience in law enforcement, Superintendent Gogra pledged to uphold the values of the Crime family and work towards enhancing the institution.

Addressing the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) personnel, Superintendent Gogra emphasized the importance of adherence to established standards, punctuality, and participation in parades. He urged his team to maintain professionalism and integrity in their conduct, emphasizing that “today is a day of grace” for the department.

At the conclusion of the parade, LUC Kpulun directed Superintendent Edward K Sesay to address the issue of crowds loitering around the offices of the FSU and Anti-Land Grabbing units, emphasizing the need for improved security and orderliness in the area.

Throughout the ceremony, various speakers shared their insights and experiences with the assembled personnel, stressing the importance of professionalism and upholding the reputation of the Police force. The event served as a rallying call for unity and dedication among law enforcement officers in the Freetown-East Region, reaffirming their commitment to serving the community with diligence and integrity.
