The Freetown International Airport (FIA) in Lungi has continued its annual Ramadan Iftar ceremony/donation to and for the people of Lungi (fasting Muslims). The yearly occasion which is always distributed at Chiefdom level was held on Saturday 14th Match, 2026 at the compound of the Kaffu Bullom Chiefdom Paramount Chief, PC Bai Shebora Sheba Gbereh (III).

Speaking at the event, Country Director of FIA, Ibrahim Sheriff said that the gesture is part of his institution’s yearly Cooperate Social Responsibility, adding that they always see same as a step in the right direction. He said that they look forward to continue to support the fasting Muslims of Lungi, year-in, year-out, noting that the FIA is always ready to do things in the best interest of people.

The Kaffu Bullom Chiefdom Paramount Chief, PC Bai Shebora Sheba Gbereh (III) used the opportunity to thank FIA, while urging them for more support. He called for a judicious usage of the donated items while asking all residents of the chiefdom to continue to do things in the best interest of the community. He said that hosting the airport was a huge blessing and that people should be able to reap from the benefits.

The items include; 100 bags of 50kg rice, 25 rubbers of cooking oil, 25 bags of sugar and a cash of 50 Thousand Leone (50 Million Old Leone).
