EcoMed Advanced Medical Diagnostics Hospital has damned Senegal’s MRI test results for the Under 17 Sierra Leone National Football Team, stating that Senegal’s scan “may have been inaccurate.” This statement was as a result of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) having revised their assessment on the MRI scans leading to the reinstatement of the U17 football team into the West African Football Union (WAFU) Tournament. This statement was made in a press release dated 22nd October, 2024.
EcoMed stated that the scans they generated were interpreted by a team of international radiologists. “We stand firm by the integrity of our results, which were issued for over 40 candidates, with a clear pass/fail outcome.”
It revealed in the press release that they (EcoMed) had conducted MRI tests on over 50 candidates from the Liberian U-17 Team, of which the full participating team passed the CAF’s Scrutiny.
In the interest of transparency, they invited the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) to share the scans conducted in Senegal. They said that they are prepared to submit both scans (their scan and that of Senegal’s) to an independent panel of international radiologists to resolve any perceived concerns.
